Can you really experience Magnetic Island in just ONE DAY? This week we’re heading across from Townsville to spend an action-packed day exploring “Maggie” – and from the moment we picked up our topless Jeep, the adventure was on! We tackle the incredible Forts Walk, spot koalas in the wild, cool off at Horseshoe Bay, discover thousands of butterflies hidden in the forest and go searching amongst the giant granite boulders for one of the island’s famous rock wallabies. And somehow, after squeezing every possible minute out of the day, we still have to RUN to make the ferry home! Magnetic Island absolutely blew us away – but if there’s one thing we learned, it’s that one day just isn’t enough. Back on the mainland, we’ll also show you where we’ve been camping for the week – Tasman Holiday Parks Rollingstone, around 60km north of Townsville. We can’t believe we’ve driven past this place so many times without knowing it was here! Beachfront location, a pool and waterslide, catch-and-release barramundi ponds and campsites right on the water… this one might just be a new Tropical North Queensland favourite.
