Episode 781: Early Holden Royalty – Brian Hodges & Bob Moore

23 minutes

In this episode of Classic Restos, Fletch takes a nostalgic journey through the formative years of Australia’s Own Car.

Fletch kicks things off with the genesis of Aussie manufacturing, catching up with Brian Hodges to get up close and personal with a landmark 1950 48-215 Holden sedan. Next, we look at a beautifully preserved 1952 FX Ute, then onto the chrome-heavy styling era, as we admire a stunning 1954 FJ Sedan.

Fletch then meets up with enthusiast Bob Moore, to marvel at his latest car in the stable – an immaculate, flawlessly restored EK Holden wagon.

From the raw simplicity of the early fifties to the space-age, American-inspired fins on a wagon in the early sixties, this episode is a chrome-plated celebration of the cars and the collectors shaping our Australian automotive heritage.
