Episode 782: Peter Brock’s 1956 Austin A30 Replica by Bruce Shaw

22 minutes

In this episode of Classic Restos, Fletch explores the enduring legacy of Peter Brock’s legendary first race car, by tracking down an incredible 1956 Austin A30 replica.

First & main in this episode, Bruce Shaw takes Fletch to Fitzy’s Fabrication workshop in the Sutherland Shire of NSW, where the Austin A30 work is being carried out.

Fletch gets a first-hand look at the massive engineering challenges of modifying a tiny British classic to handle Aussie motorsport DNA, powered by a healthy 12 Port, Holden 202.

Fletch then incorporates Peter Curran from Junee in NSW to spotlight his 1956 Austin A30 Peter Brock replica car.

By contrasting Bruce’s bare-metal mock-up, with Peter’s near completed masterpiece, this episode celebrates the passion, sweat, and fabricator magic required to keep “King of the Mountain” folklore alive, in tribute to the late Peter Brock.
