The South Australia’s History Festival began its month-long 2025 program of events across the state with an enthralling talk by Dr Richard ‘Harry’ Harris SC OAM, delivering The Sir Hubert Wilkins Oration.

Dr Harris has long been inspired by historical figures who staked more than their reputation to advance the quest for knowledge, exploration, and betterment of humanity. In this talk, Dr Harris explains his mission to unlock young people’s inner explorer, and how he continues to draw resolve and resilience from this great South Australian explorer, Sir Hubert Wilkins.
