Van Life Isn’t Always Beautiful…
Full-time caravan living in Australia isn’t always beach sunsets and blue skies… and this week was a perfect reminder of that.
We arrived at Noosa North Shore Beach Campground excited for a week of filming along Teewah Beach – one of our favourite stretches of coastline in Queensland. Then the rain came, and it kept coming.
Instead of beach drives and campfires, it was a boggy campsite, wet gear and a whole lot of watching the weather forecast, hoping for a break.
But that’s the thing about this lifestyle. Sometimes the plans change… and you simply adapt.
One of our favourite moments from the week came thanks to Jasper, who came up with a clever way to use the rain falling off our awning to refill our caravan’s water tanks. It was such a simple idea, but one of those little moments that reminds us why we love raising him on the road.
With even more rain forecast, we eventually made the tough call to pack up the LC300, hitch up the Essential Caravan, and head south in search of a little sunshine. It wasn’t the week we’d planned… but it was real.
Because this is full-time caravan life. Sometimes it’s incredible beach camping. Sometimes it’s camping in the rain. And often, it’s the unexpected moments in between that become the ones you remember most.
If you’ve ever wondered what van life in Australia really looks like beyond the highlight reel, we hope you’ll enjoy coming along for this one.
Thanks for watching.
