Julie Peters is still naïve enough to believe the world can be a better place and has been active in trying to make it happen as a doctoral researcher, teacher, sessional academic, performer, writer, parliamentary candidate, practical environmentalist, (and) media professional.

A strong focus of her work has been to demythologise and promote social justice and equity for trans and gender diverse individuals with the public, health professionals, and across intersectional academic discourses.
