The 2014 Antenna Awards

The 2014 Antenna Awards were held on Wednesday October 1st at Deakin Edge at Melbourne’s Federation Square.

The Awards were attended by over 400 representatives from the community television sector, the film and television industry, local business and local, state and federal governments. The Awards were presented by C31 and were broadcast live into Melbourne and Geelong and on delay around the country via the other community networks.

The 2014 Antenna Awards were an enormous display of strength by the community television sector which faces adversity as the Communications Minister Malcolm Turnbull recently announced that community television broadcast licenses would be terminated in 2015.

Beginning in 2004, The Antenna Awards recognise the best community television programming from across Australia. These awards celebrate Australia’s diversity and bring together the best new talent from a wide range of communities and cultures, interests and perspectives.
