The View From Here continues for a sixth season on RTRFM, with 12 monthly instalments featuring some of our favourite local artists in iconic and unexpected locations across WA.
The third episode sees the raucous, emotional and complex sounds of post-hardcore WA legends Shit Narnia grace the hallowed boards of the Heath Ledger Theatre. In an empty theatre nestled in the heart of the State Theatre Centre of Western Australia (the jewel in the Arts and Culture Trust of WA stable of venues) the four-piece roll through three tunes from their critically acclaimed new album Cloudbelt.
The performance highlights the intense vocals of Hugh Manning, the rhythmic and stoic drumming of Albert Pritchard (New Nausea), the driving bass lines of Wills Pritchard and the chaotic guitar work of Sam Aitken. Sit back and let their sounds engulf you in a space normally reserved for more refined activities. Then again, you can argue Shit Narnia’s set is refined in its own way. Their sounds reverberate around and off the wooden walls and the band make the stage their own.
