Record Cold Snap vs 34°C Hot Springs in NT

Escape the winter blues with us this week as we hit the tropics of the Top End, NT. This is definitely winter done right in Australia! We make it to the infamous Daly Waters Hotel for a couple of nights of camping and good fun in this crazy amazing environment.

We have a chat with publican Tim Carter, enjoy the pub’s tropical pool, try out their famous ‘Beef and Barra’ dinner, visit Tim’s Junk Yard, talk to the free roaming animals and dance the night away. Then we’re off to Mataranka for some rest and rejuvenation. Known for their incredible hot springs, it’s 34 degrees in the water, 34 degrees out of the water!

We set up camp at Mataranka’s best park, the Territory Manor, and settle in for a brilliant few days. This is a must stay location on your Red Centre road trip itinerary!
