The View From Here continues for a sixth season on RTRFM, with 12 monthly instalments featuring some of our favourite local artists in iconic and unexpected locations across WA.
The fourth episode sees the in your face, no holds barred, activist punk of Last Quokka playing on the lanes of Rosemount Bowl – The Friendliest Bowl in The West. Rosemout Bowl has sat on the same site for 99 years, opening in 1923, making it the oldest bowling alley in the state… perhaps in Australia… perhaps in the world?!
We are lucky it is still standing after Last Quokka rolled in to deliver four songs that nearly blew the roof off the 100-year-old building. Decked out in bowling shoes and under the neon lights the five piece play a blistering, non-stop 10 minutes of forceful and raw punk rock music. The performance highlights the intense vocals of Trent Rojahn, driving bass lines of Ray Grenfell, forceful guitars of Justin Zanetic and Kirill Ivoutin and the pulsating drums of María Carlota Rivera Estrada.
