Youngster Joe McKinnon capped off a huge year in 2023 by winning the prestigious Bay Sheffield running race in South Australia and was coached by respected coach Debbie Meich.
Debbie broke a big record too, she became the first female coach in 137 years to successfully coach a Bay Sheffield winner and Joe and Debbie definitely make a fantastic combination. We spoke about what it meant to Joe about winning the prestigious race and why 2023 was such a big year for him, how they got connected, why the Bay Sheffield was a big one for Deb as well and we discussed their individual running journeys.
