Cahill Kelly

Cahill Kelly is an Australian singer songwriter and guitarist based in Melbourne Victoria. Drawing influences from a wide palette of genres and personal experiences, his songwriting sits somewhere between the realm of nostalgia and anticipation. Conjuring tones akin to the 60’s and 70’s folk, country, and rock scenes, while keeping his finger on the pulse of contemporary songwriting and experimentation.

Hailing from Alligator Creek and seeking musical hydration from the humid grasp of far North Queensland, a 20-year-old Kelly rode the winds of mild success with his band ‘The Broken Needles’ down the coast to set up base in Melbourne. Over the next decade Kelly cut his musical teeth in every band and venue that would have him, fronting his own band ‘Willow Darling’ for several years which gained a popular underground following.

Having now contributed to over 16+ releases and having shared the stage with some of Melbourne’s heavy hitters (Lost Ragas, Heartbrokers, Angie McMahon, Grace Cummings, Immigrant Union, Skyscraper Stan, Leah Senior, Davey Lane and Draught Dodgers), Kelly is stepping out into the songwriting ring and this episode features songs from his first full length solo album ‘Classical and Cool Jazz’.
