Black Cab

Formed in 2004, Melbourne’s Black Cab’s sound has ranged from psychedelic kraut rock to driving electronica, often drawing inspiration from Europe and American culture of the ’70’s and ’80’s. Centred around core members, Andrew Coates and James Lee, the group has released five full-length albums (“Altamont Diary”, “Jesus East”, Call Signs” (Featuring guest, Ron Peno from Died Pretty) , Games of the 21st Olympiad” and an original score to cult Anime’ film “Akira”) and perform headline shows with a full band regularly in Melbourne and the east coast of Australia, touring Europe in 2007 Their live performances feature world class 3D visuals and a blazing lazer light show. Something the band has become well renowned for. 

They have shared the stage with Tangerine Dream, Brian Jonestown Massacre, Damo Suzuki and Ratatat among others and performed at Golden Plains, Sugar Mountain, Paradise Festival, NGV, GoMA, White Night Festival and Supersense Festival of the Ecstatic at Melbourne’s Arts Centre.
