Wes Snelling is an actor, singer, comedian, writer, director, and producer who has worked across cabaret, comedy, and theatre for over twenty-five years.
Born and raised in Kyneton he has taught conversation English in South Korea, has had a long association with the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, including as a development producer, working across Class Clowns, Deadly Funny, and other artist development programs, and serves as producer and director of the Aboriginal Comedy Allstars.
As an award-winning performer, producer, and writer Wes has toured cabaret and comedy, recently revisiting Kiosk, his autobiographical one person show about growing up in his family’s caravan park, with plans to develop the work, including a screen adaptation.
With host David Hunt, Wes speaks about coming out, the small country town shadow, the accidental path into comedy via contemporary dance, his first cabaret show, and the creation of Tina Del Twist, the jazz and blues singer with a fishbowl as a drinking vessel, just to get started.
