Amazing People from our Community – Tyran Parke – Theatre and Storytelling Visionary

32 minutes

Tyran Parke is a visionary in theatre and storytelling. Theatre Director, Actor, Singer, Artistic Director.

A prominent figure in the theatre community, Tyran Parke shares his journey from a shy child in Newcastle to a leading voice in musical theatre education, as the current head of the music theatre department at the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA), who emphasizes the transformative power of the arts in developing essential life skills.

Reflecting on his early experiences, Tyran recounts how the loss of his mother at a young age shaped his passion for storytelling and performance, believing that theatre is not just about entertainment, but is also a vital tool for personal growth, connection, communication and empathy.

Currently preparing for the 2025 season of the Australian Musical Theatre Festival in Tasmania, has Tyran again bringing together talented artists from across Australia to celebrate and experiment with musical theatre, fostering creativity and community engagement, making theatre a living, breathing, experience.
