A carer is someone who provides unpaid care and support to family members and/or friends with a disability, mental illness, chronic health issue or an older person with care needs. (1 in 10 Australians) In addition to learning about how the carers in our community are supported by Carers Victoria, we meet Joanne Copeland. Joanne is the mother of 4 children and who suddenly had her world turned upside down when her twins Zalie and Flynn were diagnosed with autism. To help other parents in a similar situation she wrote a book Footsteps of Two -Never Give Up: One Mum’s Journey -Twins on the Autism Spectrum.
