AJ Williams-Tchen, who has Wiradjuri and Wotjobaluk heritage, is respected across the community for his work in mental health training, reconciliation, and Aboriginal cultural mentoring programs, providing awareness of mental illness within the Aboriginal community and increasing mental health literacy among all Australians.
His vision is that the community should not be afraid of recognising mental illness, and with the appropriate skills, knowledge and support, will be empowered to help their loved one, family member or friend; having delivered over 900 mental health first aid courses to over 10,000 participants nation-wide.
