Crossing parts of the USA for 2025 with a big thanks to Shannons, Fletch takes around a 7 hour drive from Virginia into Kentucky, to bring us Lyon’s Vintage Junkyard. When Fletch checked into the Hotel around 40 minutes away from the film location, the lady couldn’t understand why Fletch was even going there. The location is near a little village in Regional Central Kentucky named Loretto, playing host to a population of around 714 people.
It is here that Fletch met David Lyon, the owner of the Junkyard and David lives on his picturesque 18 acres, while the Junkyard is down the back. After a quick look around his 1st shed, driving a clapped-out mini-van on a muddy driveway through a ploughed paddock, David takes Fletch towards the cars. There was an entrance in the greenery that was almost a front door to the next part of the property, and that is where around 300 vehicles from the 1950’s, 1960’s & 1970’s awaited him.
As the mosquitos buzzed around, enhanced by 95 degree Fahrenheit heat, Fletch does his best to bring you what he could.
On these exclusive 2025 USA episodes, you will see some monumental content. But this is a feature about “the little guy” – working from his Barn, and with no Staff, and David’s commitment to supporting and supplying our classic vehicle culture with parts all over the United States and into other countries as well. We hope that you enjoy what you see, in this week’s Classic Restos – Stateside 2025, brought to you by Shannons.
