Our guest is Vi Hy, a proud queer non-binary Dandenong local with a love for learning and community, who tells of their journey and the significance of community and culture.
As a refugee, Vi delves into the rich history of queer culture in Cambodia, where being queer is often linked to spirituality and tradition, emphasizing the importance of embracing one’s heritage and how living in Australia empowers them to explore and celebrate, culture and identity.
Vi is a board member of the Australian GLBTIQ Multicultural Council (AGMC), and a member of the Greater Dandenong LGBTIQA+ Advisory Committee.
This episode also touches on the need for awareness around issues such as palliative care.
