Thomas Burge shares his journey from the world of fashion to establishing a vibrant community space known as Storehouse.
Born in Brisbane and raised in Sydney, Thomas’s career began in fashion advertising, where he developed concepts for major brands working with renowned fashion icons and designers. His experiences in New York further shaped his creative vision, but it was his move to Victoria that marked a significant turning point in his life.
After what he describes as a challenging period, Thomas recognised the importance of community and service, which ultimately led him to create Storehouse. This unique space in St Kilda showcases the work of local artists, emphasising ethical and sustainable practices, and is committed to highlighting the unique stories behind each piece of art, product, artist, and maker.
