Quests By Community: Ageing well in a changing world – Gerard Mansour

Gerard Mansour is The Commissioner for Senior Victorians, and a senior Victorian himself, who regularly consults with the diverse communities across Victoria, to ensure he not only understands, but is personally fully briefed, of the realities experienced by seniors, to ensure what the Senior Community needs to be heard; is!

In 2020, Gerard presented the Ageing well in a changing world report, as an overview of the feedback obtained from senior Victorians on what it means to age well, that identified “Eight Attributes of Ageing Well”. These include respect, financial and personal security, health autonomy and mobility.

Walking the Talk, the commissioner encourages seniors to seek ways to be involved in their community, with just one of these being by volunteering which he does himself, while ensuring that a respectable commitment balance is maintained, that fits in with, and suits, your life.
